Nina — We have to have permits in Florida, but we don’t have the same kind of lobster as the North Atlantic (and these were northern Maine lobster, not Florida). Florida spiny lobsters actually don’t have claws. It’s not too hard to get a permit, though there are very short seasons.

I remember the good old days when we could dive for some lobster. These days getting a permit is so expensive and the stock is very limited. There isn’t a better way to prepare lobster than grilling it, but that is just my opinion! Lovely post!
